Hat–Trick Hero
Moldgreen 5 St. Joseph’s 0
Dakari Bedeau scored a match-winning hat-trick in a thriller straight out of the Mr Millington handbook.
Breathless, exciting and brilliant, Moldgreen were simply unstoppable.
The joy about Moldgreen under Mr Millington is that they bring something different to the party. Or should we say work event: Energy, enthusiasm and non-stop work rate.
Moldgreen started the game with great shape and positional discipline. After some strong work on the right from Kayden Levy the ball bounced out to Dakari Bedeau who smashed the ball into the back of the net.
Moldgreen doubled their lead with a nice move down the left and a curling shot that was un-savable from Bedeau.
Moldgreen continued to push the opposition back into their own half with a lot of pressure. Kaden Jonah’s amazing dribble led to a deflected shot which fell into the path of Liall Ryan who nutmegged the goalkeeper for the third goal.
The introduction of Kaiden Stephenson up front led to another goal. An excellent cross-field ball from Bedeau to Levy resulted in a pinpoint far post cross which led to an incredible finish from Stephenson.
Man of the Match Dakari Bedeau put the icing on the cake by completing his hat-trick. A mazy run and dribble led to a one on one which was calmly slotted past the the opposition keeper with relative ease.
However, no-one should overlook Liall Ryan’s impact on the game either as the tall defender was sensational. His skill, flair and vision made him one of the very best players to watch in the tournament.
Kaden Jonah ‘I thought we would win because we had a strong side and we all had good chemistry. We all knew our roles and how to play.’
Liall Ryan ‘We had excellent communication with each other and all knew our jobs.’
Kayden Levy ‘It is an honour to represent Moldgreen and I always try my best.’
Mr Millington ‘I was extremely proud of the boys. It was a very good performance and I felt we were always in control of the game. It was a great team performance!’
