PE at Moldgreen
Physical Education in our school is delivered through the Beyond the Physical Framework
Beyond the Physical is an online system which helps us teach children fundamental movement skills and develops these throughout their primary journey by increasing the challenge level year on year.
What We've Been Up To
October 2023
6 Year 5/6 boys took part in the 6 a-side tournament at Huddersfield New College. We won 2 games and drew our third. A good team effort.
Y5 children were trained as playleader by Pennine Sports Partnership. They now help to run activities at lunch time and help Pennine in school to support children with activities.
November 2023
Five children from the Multi-Skills after school club attended a Boccia Tournament at North Huddersfield Trust School. All of the children who attended had a lot of fun and were able to use some of their core PE skills learnt such as; thowing and catching, agility and balance, reaction time as well as work ethic.
January 2024
6 children were chosen to travel to St.Joseph's School in Dalton to taken part in an inclusion festival. The children enjoyed the experience.
Georgia from Pennine Sports worked all day in school leading multi skills events for our KS1 pupils. She was ably helped by our trained play leaders.
February 2024
Dan, one of our HTFC Foundation coaches, took 8 Y5/6 boys to the Leeds Sports Complex to take part in the EFL Kids Cup U11 (Y5 & Y6) National Football Tournament. The boys had a good day and came away with a medal each. They were lucky enough to meet Jonathan Hogg (8) and Tom Lees (32).
February 2024 Catch and pass Event at North Huddersfield Trust
The children had a good evening playing against other schools and the organisers praised Moldgreen pupils for the team work and sportsmanship. Well done all.
March 2024
Georgia from Pennine Sports Partnership came into school this afternoon to take some PE sessions with Y4. They worked on their dance skills to music.
March also saw Y5/6 girls attend an indoor football event at North Huddersfield Trust school. A good event. The team became stronger and stronger after each game.

The sports area was dedicated to just girls at break and lunch time!

April 2024
Georgia from Pennine visited again and taughts Reception classes some exercises they can do to music. Our playleaders supported these sessions in the morning.
Georgia stayed for the afternoon and helped Year 2 children have experience at playing Boccia. The playleaders supported this session also.
